Description
This amazing antique brooch /pendant is Victorian era, 1860 circa.
Glorious workmanship of the era crafted from solid 18 KT rose gold topped by silver, tested.
The back pin can be removed by screwing the element to be worn as a pendant, by slipping the bail which can fold at the back when using it as brooch.
It boasts a magnificent scroll work of sinuous lines highlighted by mine cut Diamonds slightly varying in sizes. The piece is enriched by 8 marvellous natural not nucleated sea Pearls of shiny white silver silky texture full of natural iridescence as only natural Pearls can have. Pearls vary in sizes from smaller to larger to fit the design, 3 drop shaped are set as finials swinging freely- bigger drop pearl is approx 6 X 8 mm. with slightly smaller on sides – bigger round pearl is approx 8 X 7 mm set in the middle with4 more graduating down to fit the design.
Diamonds are 16 in number plus very tiny antique cut set on the Pearl finials, total content is approx 1.80/2.0 Ct. full of fascinating sparkle old mine cuts can give.
The piece measures 40 mm. north to south excluding the bail – 43 mm. with the bail – east to west is approx 25 mm. – total weight is 10. 2 grams.
Fantastic condition with no replacement or repair of any sort.
