Description
Past Fashion Impressed into Time
Very representative and distinctive Victorian period Etruscan revival earrings and pendant set, beautifully hand fabricated by MONTELATICI Angiolo e fratelli , Firenze (1860/1880) bearing the original maker label active in Florence till 1880
Fantastic Etruscan design, especially for the earrings which are truly beautiful in design with richly detailed gold workmanship exalting the Pietra Dura artwork at best
The large oval pendant is to complete the set with larger flowery Pietra Dura composition, masterfully done with all hues of colour’s shadows for 3-D effect, gold frame and large bail resembling the amazing ancient Etruscan workmanship in vogue during that time, tested for 18 KT gold, assay on the earrings wires
They come in the original fitted case making the set more meaningful and rare
Fine condition keeping with age- pendant probably originated as locket with missed glass and window, little dent on top of the locket bail
Collector past art-piece, amazing when worn!
Unless otherwise stated boxes are for presentation only
