Abraham Colomby (or Collomb, Colombi and Colomb) was a Swiss maker and retailer who came from a famous watchmaking family in Geneva. He was born in 1702 as son of watchmaker Jean Pierre Collomb (1659-1738) and Jeanne Mussard (1657-1726), the daughter of master goldsmith Jean le Jeune Mussard. Abraham Colomby died in Geneva in 1776.

Dial and movement signed Abraham Colomby

Abraham Colomby (or Collomb, Colombi and Colomb) was a Swiss maker and retailer who came from a famous watchmaking family in Geneva. He was born in 1702 as son of watchmaker Jean Pierre Collomb (1659-1738) and Jeanne Mussard (1657-1726), the daughter of master goldsmith Jean le Jeune Mussard. Abraham Colomby died in Geneva in 1776.

The watch is composed of two parts:
Protective case in solid 20 Kt yellow gold and silver (tested)
the front with a circle of rose cut diamonds
The release of the case is set with a rose cut diamond as well
the back side with a nice lady enamel portrait and rose cut diamonds
It measure 53 mm. in diameter
There are 142 rose cut diamonds ranging in diameter from.001 mm to 1.8 mm.

The inner watch is in plain 20 Kt yellow gold and measure 31 mm. in diameter

The movement is a Gilded verge movement, signed (Abraham Colomby) and numbered (8777). Pierced and engraved balance cock with ruby endstone, and large silver regulator disk. Four square pillars.
The movement is in good condition, and is running well.
In excellent condition throughout
The hinges are fine and the case snaps shut nicely.

According to the serial number the watch can be dated 1760 ca

This ia a nice epitome of the gentlemen elegance and wealth of the time
Comes to us in excellent condition considering the long time ands is still working smoothly

Not only a rare time keeper but a sophisticate jewel of the Georgian era
