In 1994, in the country of Mali, Africa, a unique yellow-green to yellow brown garnet was discovered. It is principally Andradite, mixed with some Grossular. Later, in the last year of the 20th century large Grossularite occurrences were discovered in Mali, very desirable
Large sized gems are very rare in this garnet species and prices increase dramatically with an increase in gemstone size. Clean Mali garnets in large size over 5 carats are exceptionally rare. Fine quality, loose faceted Grossular garnet gemstones can be the most spectacular of all semi precious gemstones because of their high brilliance
Here we have an extremely fine example of exceptional round brilliant cut , it is a gigantic size therefore very valuable since the scarcity of the rough for this size
We estimate it as 20.0 Ct measuring 16 mm. in diameter, an impressive in size hardly seen of excellent clarity and superb yellow with a greenish overtone
