A spectacular pair of 19th Century Etruscan Revival earrings, 1860 ca
They boast the magnificent workmanship of the era, solid 18 KT gold substantial weight of 15.8 grams – so not much delicate to wear as can be the more common light in weight
Many nineteenth-century jewelers, the most famous being the House of Castellani, were inspired to create their own versions of these ancient pieces, hence “Etruscan Revival.”
This stunning pair is highly decorated with wired gold treads work granulation and carving and openwork creating a dramatic effect of eternal visual beauty
They are set with antique flat cut natural Rubies set throughout from top to bottom for a more effective play of colors against the rich bright warm yellow gold which is fantastic
Approx 1.60 Ct of natural Rubies, one has an inclusion reaching the table
Earrings are 54 x 15 mm. (h. x w.) – gold weight is 15.8 grams
