This beautiful religious pendant is 1890 ca
Rare find from the Art Nouveau period, having distinctive decoration of the era, it has been hand crafted of solid 18 KT gold, Austro Hungarian origin standing from age and language written on the reverse
It is a large oval shaped, with amazing designed frame, typical Art Nouveau, depicting the blessed Virgin Mary standing on the moon in the blue sky surrounded by cherubs, beautifully executed, hand painted miniature giving a suave image of the Virgin with spectacular skills and colours
reverse is in white porcelain with Blue inscription in Hungarian – translated: “Blessed Mary mother of God pray for us” – please note a slight chip on the porcelain as part of its history, otherwise perfect condition
Pendant is 50 x 31 mm. (h. x w.) including bail – the miniature is 34 x 24 mm.
