Divine 1790 ca Georgian Necklace
During the day, Georgian women wore very little jewellery, perhaps only a simple black ribbon around their neck
Evenings were different: rich in design and remarkable in crafting jewellery was to impress the viewer; collars were much in vogue worn alone or with a pendant attached
Here we have an outstanding authentic Georgian period collar which originally had its dedicated girandole pendant, given to different heirs relatives during the time
We had the privilege of getting them together and offering them for sale , pendant is offered separately
The elegance and the amazing, rare workmanship made of 16 KT solid rose gold, make it quite an art piece from the Georgian period, thinking there are very little surviving from this era, understates it as a must have in modern times
The hand made open work composition of floral and lyrical C – scrolls develops in the central side with three bow like sections – larger in the middle- finely constructed curvilinear and arcs forms give life to a spectacular timeless necklace
The intense Red Garnet and the shimmer of the Natural Pearls in floret patter adorn throughout the rare gold manufacture with charming result
Garnets make a total content of 13.00 full carats with 17 natural fresh water pearls ranging in size from 5 mm. to 7 mm.
