This is not only fabulous because the lovely brooch has been made in the highly collectable fly theme not only for the wonderful sparkly Diamonds for which it has been set but because it holds a FANTASTIC large natural Sapphire of almost 6.0 CT!
This brooch is of Italian origin totally hand crafted 70 years ago judging from the hallmarks
It has beautiful design of a fly with open wings and spectacular jewelled body
It has been made of solid 18 Kt rose gold topped by silver – stamped on the reverse side with assay and maker marks
Highly detailed workmanship accurate and richly detailed throughout
The brooch faces up with an outstanding large 1 oval cushion faceted cut NATURAL Ceylon sapphire of approx 5.80 Ct (10.77 mm. x 7.57 mm.) no evidence of heating
This is an hair down of 6.0 full carats Natural Sapphire as made in nature no tricks all natural colour and so big! Beautiful intense sky blue hue so unique and distinctive!
The fly has been further embellished by loads of half cut Diamonds and ruby accent to detail eyes and head
We estimate approx 2.0 full Carats between Diamonds and Rubies Diamonds are all G VVS/VS
Brooch measures 27 mm. x 44 mm. (h. x w.) – it weighs 9.2 grams
